COMING FROM THE SOUTH
BRU, EDUARD
In response to the current condition of Central European architecture, architect Eduard Bru defends architectural design and construction methods that have generated in the South. Not all cities are diffuse, nor are all territories flat or all nations wealthy. In Coming from the South, the author reflects on the present and immediate future of the built environment, using parameters that depart from the concepts espoused by the dominant Dutch/North American schools of thought. Through writing and projects, Bru in collaboration with his colleagues, demonstrates that in poorer countries, the construction of space by means of a permanent, highly neutral, even perhaps a-temporal architecture can, over time, produce a highly meaningful presence that within the built landscape.
La tesis que defiende Eduard Bru en este libro ?y que avala con una interesantísima práctica propia o cercana ilustrada en estas páginas? es que cada realidad geográfica, social y cultural requiere una determinada producción de espacio.
